I’ve been thinking about starting this blog for a long time. Not because I didn’t know what I wanted to write about, but because I kept waiting for it to feel fully formed, like I should know exactly where it was going before I let anyone else in.
The truth is, most of the things I care about don’t work like that.
I’m a primary school teacher, which means I spend my days explaining small things that turn out to be quite big. I also spend a lot of time noticing how children make sense of the world, what they ask, what they don’t, and what happens when adults try to tidy things up too quickly. Alongside that, my faith is a big part of my life, and so is travelling, learning languages, and stepping into places that feel unfamiliar and slightly uncomfortable.
What I keep coming back to is the inside of things, what it’s actually like to live and learn in spaces people don’t always get to see up close. Classrooms. Faith communities. Unfamiliar places. Everyday moments that turn out to matter more than expected. This blog is where I try to notice those things, sit with them, and make sense of them as honestly as I can.
I don’t have neat conclusions or finished answers. What I do have is curiosity, a notebook full of half-formed thoughts, and a desire to pay attention. You’ll be joining me in the messy middle of trying to figure these things out. I don’t promise to have the answers or the solutions, but I will be thinking out loud, and I hope it will be interesting to come along for the ride.
This is me starting, and I’m so glad you’re here!
